Pete Chojnacki is Retiring

Pete Chojnacki w
For all the right reasons we are both sad & pleased to announce that another long-standing pillar of the BPI Color Team is retiring to his next well-earned and deserved life away from work.  After 21 + years of dedicated service to BPI Color, Pete Chojnacki (aka: Pistol Pete & PPC) will be hanging up his technician tools and enjoying life with his lovely wife Ann and family.  Pete has been an important contributor and big part of the success BPI has generated over the past 21 years. We will truly miss his loyalty, humor, opinion, work ethic and tenacity in repairing tough fixes.  Pete’s rapidly approaching “official” last day with the BPI Color Team is Tuesday May 31st.  Please don’t miss the opportunity to wish Pete the very best of luck in his new adventures as an official member of the retiree community. -Pat Feely

Dennis – one incredible career, one incredible guy…

Dennis Rev3
Dear all, Today a career usually doesn’t mean spending your life dedicated fully to one place and one company family. But to a few Milwaukeeans, this type of dedication is still very real. Dennis Verville is one of those few. Dennis grew up in Milwaukee where God, family, friends and job meant everything. That is why the heart of Milwaukee has always been in his heart, why Dennis has been a friend to everyone he has ever met and why those he has met NEVER forget him. Dennis’ Milwaukee neighborhood of St. Francis is a close-knit community that he never left because St. Francis mothers knew everything about everybody, and everybody towed the line — or there was a reckoning to be had. His neighborhood is family to him and it was where he learned to appreciate his world, its history and its politics … good, bad and otherwise. As a true student of human nature and a voracious reader Dennis learned more about humanity and world history than most historians and 99% of Americans ever will. In a time when careers are sometimes measured in months Dennis spent 43 years —2260 weeks —in service and friendship to hundreds of colleagues and thousands of customers at one employer. The company evolved from Blueprints Inc. in the ‘70s and BPI in the ‘90s to, finally, BPI Color today. But one thing that never changed — save for two sick days and vacation, Dennis was there every day. Dennis’ enduring trait in his hundreds of friendships has always been a calm, cool and collected manner and genuine compassion. He is a quintessential Milwaukee “steady Eddie”. A son of a Milwaukee union ironworker and a stay-at-home mom who demonstrated humility, compassion and service to everyone they met. These are human traits that seem to have waned of late, but in today’s world mean more than ever. And Dennis is helping keep them alive. So to our friend of more than 40 years, we say:  We are ALL so proud to say we know you — a special human being and friend to everyone you have ever met. God bless, Danke and Nastrovia ! Signed, All your friends, fellow employees, customers, acquaintances…

Crafts to Memories: Milwaukee Animal Advocate Sews to Help Small Rescues

BPI Color’s very own Vicky Van Lare is an animal advocate and a darn good one if you asked any one of her friends, family and team members! Please see her CBS 58 interview below. For the video and full article please click here: https://cbs58.com/news/crafts-to-memories-milwaukee-animal-advocate-sews-to-help-small-rescues MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) — The owner of a small business in Milwaukee has a mission to help small animal rescues throughout Wisconsin. Vicky Van Lare is an animal advocate and creator of Crafts to Memories, a business creating an array of different products for your pets. “I felt crafts will turn into memories with your animals via be their gotcha day, birthday, holiday, just fun,” said Van Lare. Fun, inspired by her own rescue dogs: Tai, Jasmine and Roxy. “We found our dog Tai, he was abused like you don’t understand he was abused. And I knew there are millions of other dogs and cats like him that needed help that needed a second chance. That’s why I decided I needed to do something, and I have sewed since I was knee high to a grasshopper as my parents would say and I took my talent and I have expanded it,” said Van Lare. Now, she makes everything for our furry friends. “One yard fleece blankets, which are good year-round honestly. I do snuggle pockets, which is a personal sleeping bag for a dog or a cat. I have flowers and bow ties for any season. Then I have bandanas. I spend a lot of time in fabric stores. Quilting stores fabric stores. I get a lot of fabric from online.” After sewing something new, Vicky takes photos of her own pups to showcase her products on social media. “It’s hard to have them all together because they all want to compete. One wants to sit one wants to lay it’s like having real children,” said Van Lare. But the tail-wagging turn of Vicky’s business, is the mission she has sewn into each sale. “I try to donate to pick a rescue a month or pick a rescue for a couple months and I’ll donate part of the sales to it. I like the little people. I do a lot with the rescues in Milwaukee and my goal for 2022 was to branch out for the rescues outside the Milwaukee area and start doing fundraisers with them,” said Van Lare. For these small rescues, each donation is a big deal. “They are just thrilled, even if you were only able to give them $50, every penny counts to them. They say this will go towards helping an animal or this will go towards our medical fund because these rescues pull very sick animals from down south. It warms your heart, there are nights that you’re sewing, and you think I can’t do another one, I can’t do another one, but you think about the animals that you are helping. And its joyous when you send out a blanket to a shelter or you’re making a raffle basket knowing that this hard work is going to help somebody,” said Van Lare. They are all acts of kindness in honor of unconditional love. “It doesn’t matter if you’re having a bad day, they will come kiss and snuggle you if you’re having an amazing day, they will do the same thing. It’s very therapeutic to know that in your hard time you’re helping someone else who’s having a hard time they can’t speak for themselves,” said Van Lare. BPI Color to Present at SuperCon ‘22 Event

Milwaukee, WI – BPI Color announced today that they have been chosen to present a critical session on How 3D Scanning & Visual Data are Bringing Forensic Truth to Design and Construction at the SuperCon ‘22 event. SuperCon ’22, is the largest event sponsored by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin for its more than 900 members. It will be held February 9 – 10, 2022 at the Glacier Canon Conference Center located in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

The session entitled, How 3D Scanning & Visual Data are Bringing Forensic Truth to Design and Construction, to be presented at 3 p.m. will discuss how technology can improve the design, build, as-built, and closeout processes in construction and why a new standard for As-Built Documentation will be a 3d scan at project completion referred to as VizBuilts.

BPI’s Information Technology Manager, Brian Schuett an industry veteran with more than 17 years of experience with construction technology solutions will present on behalf of BPI Color. BPI Color, has served the document, equipment and display graphics needs of the A/E/C market for more than six decades and has offices located in Milwaukee, Madison and Menomonee Falls, WI.

David Cramer, a senior member of NAPco’s Forensic Building Information team will co-present. NAPco is a recognized leader in verifying as-built conditions for projects in the Government, Healthcare, Transportation Pharmaceutical, Entertainment, Education and Historical sectors.

BPI Color President, Steve Mueller, said of his company’s session, “Too often, As-Built Documentation has either missing or incomplete data of the building structure. These omissions or inaccuracies lead to time delays, change orders, or even lawsuits. Later these same issues prolong the closeout of projects leading to further delays and lost profit. We are excited to bring a new approach to the market that can positively impact the profitability of our customer’s properties and projects.”

Benefits of Working with Our Customer Engagement Team

Teamwork can be defined as a group of people working together towards a common purpose or goal. But this is easier said than done. Bringing together a group of decision makers can bubble up many different perspectives on how to accomplish a goal. Sometimes despite your best effort, there may be natural friction between people of different personality types, miscommunication and other conflicts.

By working in collaboration between your team and our Customer Engagement Team we help each other understand the inner workings of your project and how inter-team members can work together to accomplish their needs, pain points and preferences. We can also then be in a better position to emphasize and understand different viewpoints to ensure a seamless transition of deliverables.

New expanded line of large format printers include imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 Series and the next generation of imagePROGRAF TX printers

NEWS PROVIDED BY Canon U.S.A., Inc. | Mar 16, 2021, 09:30 ET

MELVILLE, N.Y.March 16, 2021 /PRNewswire/ —

Further showcasing its commitment to innovation and pushing the boundaries of print, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is excited to announce the latest additions to its imagePROGRAF line of large format printers with new hybrid solutions, the imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 and imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 multifunction printer (MFP) Z36. Offering high-speed printing, security features and advanced media handling, these new solutions are designed to benefit a variety of Production CAD markets including architecture, engineering, government, manufacturing – just to name a few – at a low acquisition cost. In addition to the new imagePROGRAF TZ Series, the company is also announcing the upgraded line of imagePROGRAF TX Series printers.

Details

Built with productivity in mind, the imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 series delivers high-speed printing, as seen through its ability to produce a D-sized print in as fast as 14 seconds, and up to 236 D-sized prints per hour.1 The integrated Top Output Stacker can stack up to 100 A0-size sheets face-down, providing an added measure of confidentiality. The product’s advanced air flow system can also help reduce paper jams while keeping prints neatly in place, and its integrated, compact design can help save office space, allowing printed materials to be easily retrieved from the front of the printer.

As seen through Canon’s innovative intelligent media handling in its dual roll paper system, this product is designed with productivity and usability in mind. After the user loads the paper, the advanced sensor technology can detect the width, length and media type while also feeding the media, allowing the user to also perform other necessary tasks while the printer completes the feeding process. The product’s Roll Paper Indicator displays four different media levels with LED lights to notify users if paper is running low. As an added convenience, users can load a second roll while the first roll is still printing through its Hot Swap feature – a Canon first. The imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 is also available as a powerful Scan-to-Copy/File system that allows the user to scan and print at the same time. Providing further efficiency and productivity, the imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 MFP version also includes the new Z36 scanner, developed by Global Scanning for Canon, as well as an updated system controller with a new intuitive interface.

Capitalizing on the breadth of its product offering, Canon has also made available a wide variety of workflow and creative software programs. Designed for high-volume uses, users can take advantage of the compatibility of the imagePROGRAF TZ and imagePROGRAF TX printers with Canon’s Production Printing (CPP) Driver Select and CPP Publisher Select software, a desktop job submission software solution that boosts workflow and productivity to help users manage and submit complex sets of documents, to one or two printers at a time. Additionally, Canon introduces Direct Print Plus (DPP) job submission software which, through a combination of DPP’s processing speeds, as well as an updated user interface layout and settings menu, can help improve the rendering process for users.

“Our extensive market research pointed to an increasing demand for high speed, yet versatile, large format printers for users who are looking to expand business opportunities within the low-end LED / high end inkjet market, and the Canon imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 Series has been created specifically to meet that industry need,” said Shinichi Yoshida, executive vice president and general manager, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “As an industry-leading innovator, Canon is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of print by developing new cutting-edge solutions designed to help our customers stay productive and efficient.”

The next generation of imagePROGRAF TX Series2 devices incorporates many of the advanced technology created for the imagePROGRAF TZ Series, including increased print speeds, intelligent media handling and enhanced security features. The MFP models are also equipped with the newly developed Z36 scanner, which is designed to help save space and reduce weight while delivering advanced image quality at fast speeds. The imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 MFP Z36 also has a more integrated feel and an improved All-in-One (AIO) computer.

Availability

Delivering on its commitment to productivity, the imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 and TZ-30000 MFP Z36 ship standard as a two roll system. Orders can be processed through Canon’s authorized dealers starting on Thursday April 15, 2021. Products are expected to be available for shipment in mid-May 2021.

Here’s to a Year of Blessings and Beyond

Dear Friends and Family,

I would like to share that there is REAL Joy for all of us this Christmas Season!

As we all know 2020 has been a tremendous challenge for mankind worldwide but thank God we were blessed to be born into the greatest country the World has ever known.  It is because of America’s quest to always be better and to innovate that 2020 could go down as very turbulent but perhaps the most innovative year in USA history.

I am making this statement because if you look at America’s 2020 from a 50,000 ft. view you will be amazed by what America accomplished in spite of the worldwide pandemic:

1. America now has not one but TWO Vaccines!  This is nothing short of a Medical Miracle but not totally surprising based on the human nature to solve problems and America’s drive to innovate which is what America is best at!

2. America has made it through a VERY turbulent election year with no national disruptions as many countries have when elections are held.  The future remains uncertain but as always Americans have followed the rule of law and will have a new president who has been “elected by the people” for the next 4 years.

3. Zoom has brought more people together than anything in the history of man.  If you think about it, people and families who may have not communicating or wouldn’t have communicated are now face to face real time in some cases for hours.  Previously this was impossible and I have enjoyed this opportunity multiple times this year!

I do not want to diminish what havoc and loss the pandemic has caused through the world but I did want to bring attention to what joy has come out of this most challenging year and right before Christmas.

God Bless and Merry Christmas to ALL !
